Competitive Advantages of Media Partners Corporation and Cornell University

A vast number of business factors define the effectiveness of organizations and distinguish them from analog companies. One such factor is competitiveness, and a comparison of the competitive advantages of several similar companies may be rather interesting and provide valuable insights. Media Partners Corporation and Cornell University selected the two organizations selected for this analysis. The former is a company offering other organizations an extended number of effective tools and solutions aimed at inspiring behavior change and improving the workplace environment (Media Partners, n.d.). Media Partners Inc. has top three competitive advantages: highly skilled staff members, access to new technology, and clever use of contemporary issues in society and business in order to increase the value of the company’s products. For example, they offer their clients an extremely effective and valuable program that covers this decade’s most challenging training topic – workplace harassment, through practical instruction and powerful storytelling (Media Partners, n.d.). All the competitive advantages of this corporation are sustainable because they last longer and cannot be easily repeated by other firms.

Further, the second company is Cornell University – a private research university that offers its clients an exceptional and quality education. This educational institution is one of the most competitive in the world, and the fact that they offer flexible and interactive programs about interesting topics like diversity and inclusion adds to its success (Cornell University, n.d.). Its primary competitive advantages are brand recognition, a great variety of quality and time-tested programs, and a good reputation. Cornell University is known to be a great place for students to enhance their skills and knowledge. The way the university’s workers perform their duties and care about the students strengthens the university’s image and reputation. These are also sustainable advantages because it takes many years to build a good reputation, develop a number of quality programs, and become recognizable.
